The 8th Pick in the CMC Mock Draft

Atlanta Falcons Haiku

Falcons flying mid
Gave Cousins big dollar bills
I bet he likes that

The Atlanta Falcons select Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama

First defensive taken in the draft and there wasn't a consensus best defensive player nor is there a definitive cornerback in the class. That being said, Turner or Jared Verse would be considered the best of the pass rushers available. The measurables are there, 6-foot-4, 2541 pounds, 4.46 in the 40. Turner was an All-American and SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year. But for me there are two plays that definited Turner. In 2022 his hit on Texas QB Quinn Ewers was flagged (rightfully), but he knocked Ewers out of the game and Alabama won 20-19. Last season, his illegal hit on LSU's Jayden Daniels was not called, but it knocked Daniels out of a 28-28 game and Alabama won 42-28. These hits were not legal and will get him fined in the NFL, but they changed the course of the game. Sometimes you need to break a few eggs to make an omelet.

The 7th Pick in the 2024 CMC Mock Draft

Titans sound scary

The roster does not

Name a player on their roster

The Tennessee Titans Select OL Olumuyiwa Fashanu OL Penn State

In a draft jam packed with Tackle talent Fahsanu might be the most talented of the bunch.  A classic bookend tackle that should protect Will Levis for a long time.  Fashanu has been a star since he stepped onto campus in Happy Valley and seems about as low risk a pick as you will find in the first round.

The 6th Pick in the 2024 CMC Mock Draft

New England Patriots Haiku Poem (sponsored by O'Keefe Motor Parts):

Tom left us and we suck now.

Maye or McCarthy as our new Tom?

Lol fock off💩, there will never be another Tom.

The New England Patriots select Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame

Anytime draftniks say this guy is the next such and such QB, run the other way. Tom Brady can never be replaced. While the Patriots could have stood "Pat" at #3 and taken a highly ranked QB, they instead go for the surest thing in the draft, while taking the Giants 2nd round pick this year and 1st round next year. This is pretty smart considering Giants are gonna suck balls in 2024, where NE can have a very high 1st round selection.

Pats are in prime position to land a QB1 in 2025 with an improved 2024 roster. Alt looks like a NE guy and will be their anchor for many moons to come.

The 5th Pick from the CMC Mock Draft

TRADE ALERT:

Minnesota Vikings Haiku

Trying to get one

Thought Cousins was the guy

He left for money

The Minnesota Vikings trade up with the L.A. Chargers to select J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan

Details of the trade are as follows: L.A. deals picks 5, 69 amd 181 to the Vikings for picks 11, 23 and a 2025 4th round selection.

Minnesota had to say goodbye to Kirk Cousins, who unapologetically chases the cash every time. Cousins wasn't a top guy, but he was productive and consistent and always gave the Vikings a chance to win. Now they hope McCarthy will be a similar type of player, but a little more loyal. He's got a lot of high-end skill despite playing in a run-heavy offense. And he's a winner, leading Michigan to a CFP championship -- something that makes Ohio Ice weep.

The 4th Pick in the 2024 CMC Mock Draft

Harrison can ball

QB is too short to ride this ride.

What a waste

The Arizona Cardinals Select Marvin Harrison Jr. WR Ohio State

Harrison is a freak.  Ohio Ice knows his Ohio State prospects.  This kid is a crazy hard worker.  He's fast, he's tall, he has amazing hands.  His ability to make the tough catches will make him a start in the NFL.  He loses focuses and drops easy catches occasionally but other than that he has few flaws in his game.  He might also be the ugliest guy in the NFL the day he steps on the field.  The biggest question is who is going to get him the ball?  Arizona seems like a black hole for wide receivers right now.  Harrison can't love going there.

***TRADE*** The 3rd Pick in the 2024 CMC Mock Draft

New York Giants Haiku

Shadows of Eli's reign,

New QB's try and wane -

Echoes of past pain

The New York Giants trade up with the New England Patriots and select Drake Maye, QB, UNC

NY gives up #6, #47, and 2025 1st round pick to the Pats to take the QB of the future who reminds Daboll/Schoen of one Josh Allen (Gettleman selected Barkley 2nd overall instead in 2018...nice). Then the following year, Getty chose the QB of the Future, Daniel Jones, (foregoing another Josh Allen, EDGE in the process). 😪

This is a steep cost and a gamble; however, Maye can sit all he wants in 2024 behind Tommy DeVito🍝 and Danny Nickelz as they get crushed all season long.

Staying put and then putting a flyer on a Rattler or Milton in later rounds is not going to do it for the Schlitzmeister. Either they take their guy here or hope Marvin Harrison Jr falls on their laps.

The second pick of the 2024 CMC Mock Draft

Washington Commanders Haiku

Commies or Redskins

It doesn't seem to matter

Jayden Daniels weeps.

The Washington Commanders select Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU

The braintrust among the Commies have had months to survey the quarterback prospects not named "Caleb Williams" and will decide on the 2023 Heisman winner over Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy or Bo Nix or any of the other white guys the draftniks are trying push on us in the final weeks. Daniels really improved in year two at LSU. His pocket passing is better, his ball placement is better and his style of play will sell tickets. He needs to get bigger because the Commies don't protect their QBs much, just ask Sam Howell or RG3 or someone else I cant think of right now.
