Outside of Newton, I don't buy any of the other 1st round QB's. Why go with Locker or Gabbert when you've got guys like Kaepernick, Ponder, Dalton, and Stanzi out there who can win some ballgames.

This is a smart pick for many reasons. Minny QB's got pasted last year, including the beating up of Brett Favre. Adrian Peterson is the cornerstone of the offense and can use better run blocking. I think those are two good reasons to draft a blue chip Tackle.
